An email leaked to Tesmanian reveals that Tesla could reach its goal of half a million cars by the end of the year.
In the email, Elon Musk sounds hopeful that they will reach the goal and that it would be historical for the company.
“Would be tough but super exciting if we can exceed 500,000 cars made in a single year for the first time in Tesla history. When we stared Tesla over 16 years ago, I never thought we would get this far, but thanks to your hard work and ingenuity, we have a chance of making half a million cars in a single year.”
Later on, Elon Musk asks for input in ways to increase production.
“It all comes down to Q4. Please take whatever steps you can think of to improve output (while increasing quality).”
This email, according to Yahoo! Finance, raised company shares by 3.6% at $428.86 a share. Now, it is $425.30.
According to Electrek, Tesla’s production during the first three quarters was almost 330,000 cars. This means that they will have to produce 170,000 during the last quarter to reach their goal. On top of that, Electrek also reported that Tesla made a record of 145,000 cars during the third quarter. This means that they will have to increase output by 20%.
Deliveries have been heavily supported by Tesla’s new Shanghai factory, which, according to Yahoo! Finance, is the only plant making vehicles outside of California.
Despite having factories closed due to COVID earlier this year, it seems like Tesla can pull this off. If Tesla can reach its goal during a pandemic, the company will be more successful this year.
Elon Musk sounds like he is confident in his employee’s ability to increase and find ways to make production more efficient. In my opinion, if Tesla can sell cars without advertisements and not go bankrupt then I believe they can reach their goal by the end of 2020.
