It was only three days after supporting Kanye West for president that Elon Musk withdrew his endorsement.
West publicly announced on Independence Day that he was considering running for the position of the president of the United States. While it’s quite impossible for this to happen, he did receive support from Mark Cuban and Elon Musk. The announcement was aptly made via Twitter and this is what it read: “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.”
Musk immediately expressed his approval in the comments section, saying “You have my full support!” But it seems that he may have spoken too soon.
In an interview with Forbes on Wednesday, West admitted that he had never voted in his life and that he will be running the White House like the fictional city of Wakanda. He also thinks that vaccines are “the mark of the beast,” and that “Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work.” He also later said that he will be a member of the ‘Birthday Party.’
In light of this new information, John Crowley responded to Musk’s tweet with a link to West’s interview, “Cmon Elon – you’re way too intelligent for this BS.”
Musk tweeted back, saying “We may have more differences of opinion than I anticipated.” This was on Wednesday and the tweet has been deleted.
